When should you replace a jump mat or a spring?
What to look at in your daily check.
In short: Take out of use and inspect any trampoline with a torn jump mat, open seams, damaged fixings or deformed or loose springs. Patching a jump mat is very difficult: the sensible option is to make a new one.
What should you look at?
- Tears or badly worn areas on the jump mat
- Seams and spring anchors
- Deformed, rusty or loose springs
- Whether the trampoline bounces differently from the others
- Shifted padding that leaves the springs exposed
